This is, in my opinion, one of the most haunting and beautiful pieces of music ever composed. It’s almost hard to explain what I feel when I listen…but just the first few moments of the opening cause my heart to start racing, and tears well in my eyes, and then the vocals and the strings come in and steal my breath, and next comes the piano and woodwinds, and this swell of emotions rises in my chest, and from there, it’s just this magical journey of graceful instruments…and it ends with such beautiful simplicity that I can’t help but sigh at the finish of it.

It’s eerie and gorgeous all at once, and I just get chills. Every single time I listen, I get chills all up and down my spine.

Absolutely breathtaking.

One of my all-time favorites.
